A book of recipes from indigenous Maori communities across the Pacific, including New Zealand, New Caledonia, Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands, Hawaii, Fiji, and Pitcairn Island. There are extensive instructions for setting up a large pit fire for outdoor roasting, as well as recipes for traditional dishes like paraoa koa, paua steaks, perky grouper casserole, pineapple & pawpaw jam, raupo bread, sea lettuce hash, and much more. 

Faint spots of discoloration to covers (as seen in photo), otherwise very good. An important early work on the subject.
