(*NEW ARRIVAL*) (San Francisco) Friends of the Sisters of St. Francis Technical School. St. Francis Cook Book
$200.00
/
115 pp. Gray wrappers printed in red. First Edition. San Francisco: St. Francis Technical School, 1915.
In 1886, the Sisters at Mount St. Joseph opened a “trades school” for their older girls. The school was called St. Francis Technical School and it was located on Geary and Gough Streets in San Francisco; they taught sewing and embroidery along with other trades. Printed in the same year as the Panama Pacific International Exposition, this benefit cookbook contains recipes for traditional San Francisco fare: oysters Indian style, angels on horseback, oyster Spanish, Mephisto crab, abalone chowder, zuppa alla marinara, etc.
Crease & small smudge to front wrapper, "Technical School" inked to upper front wrapper, else very good; scarce.
