Famous for his fried lobster tail and chiterling pizza, McCall was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and migrated up to Pittsburgh as a young man. After running his catering business for 9 years, McCall opened Bob McCall's Restaurant in Pittsburgh, and served celebrities like Martin Luther King, Jr., Sister Sledge, the Jacksons, and members of the Steelers and the Pirates. He self-published his cookbook in 1982.
