(*NEW ARRIVAL*) (French) Marcellys. French Cooking for Every Woman
$125.00
/
Illus. with humorous drawings by Gilbert Viardot. Pictorial boards. First Edition in English. London: Country Life, [1930].
An absolutely charming book, with whimsical (in a good way) illustrations by Viardot. Recipes are for traditional French countryside fare like timbale Normande, mussels with cream, fried sand eels, collared pig head, etc. An unusual early innovation is that each recipe provides the time it will take to make it, next to the title.
Rubbing to extremities, some darkening to spine, otherwise very good.
