Oma and Bella The Cookbook (Alexa Karolinski)
$35.00
/
Oma and Bella The Cookbook (Oma und Bella Das Kochbuch) is the compilation of recipes from Alexa Karolinski's grandmother and her friend, Bella. Karolinski's film, “Oma and Bella,” follows the two elderly ladies as they shop for food, cook in Regina's (Oma's) tiny kitchen and reminisce about their lives.
The two are survivors of the Holocaust. The film is by turns, charming, and poignant, as the two share some of their life experiences, as they cook family recipes together. The cookbook resulting from the movie is a collection of the recipes featured in the film, along with some grandmotherly advice and photographs. It has German and English text side by side.
