The Alice B. Toklas Cook Book (Alice B. Toklas)
$125.00
/
Illus. with drawings by Sir Francis Rose. Jacket. First American Edition. NY: Harper & Bros., [1954].
The cookbook made famous in England by the addition of Brian Gyson's hash brownies, removed by Toklas in the American edition. Still, there's plenty to love herein, including saddle of mutton maintenon, bouillabase, veal marengo, etc. All written in Toklas' inimitable prose. Jacket spine somewhat dulled, a but of chipping to jacket spine ends, else very good.
