The Meriden Y.W.C.A. was founded in 1889, and provided daycare and a variety of recreational and social activities for women and children in a small number of surrounding communities. Today, it’s known as the Women and Families Center, a multi-faceted human service agency providing services throughout Middlesex County and the Greater New Haven area. From the simplest apple fritters, to the most complex “brown bisque hickory nut ice cream,” there’s something for everyone in here.
