(French) William Echikson. Burgundy Stars: A Year in the Life of a "Great French Restaurant." Chef Traci des Jardins' copy.
$65.00
/
Illus. from photographs. Jacket. First Edition. Boston: Little, Brown, [1995].
Chef Traci des Jardins' copy, with her signature to upper front pastedown. A profile of a year in the kitchen of Bernard Loiseau's restaurant, La Cote d'Or. Louiseau tragically took his own life in 2003, when he learned his restaurant might lose its 3-star status. His death caused a wrenching discussion in France about the pressure to earn and maintain three Michelin stars. Remainder mark to lower edges, else very good - and excellent association copy.
