Vine was a prolific author of books for the baking and pastry trade in Victorian England, and his books were used by professionals for their recipes and advice on setting up shop. All the recipes are for large scale baking, and include instructions for making Dudley biscuits, cocoanut drops, Jamaica sweets, ginger nuts, coriander biscuits, counter cheese biscuits, etc. Rubbing to extremities, darkening to boards, else very good.
