(New Jersey) Ladies of the Sinking Fund Society of Trinity Church, Elizabeth, New Jersey. Housekeeper’s Manual; being a compilation of Receipts of Tested Value
$200.00
/
186; [8] engraved ad pp. Gilt-lettered green cloth. NY: J.J. Little, 1882.
The ladies of the sinking fund contributed numerous recipes like Troy pudding, chicken corn pie, preserved apples, fried tomatoes, sweet pickle watermelon rind, squash pies, deviled crabs, etc. There are even a few Brazilian recipes, no doubt contributed by an immigrant church member. Some chipping to spine ends, small scrape to cloth at upper front cover; front hinge starting, else very good.
