Fernand Point died at age 57, in 1995, after running perhaps the most famous restaurant in France, La Pyramide. While he sadly never lived to see his opus published, some consider it to be the world's most important cookbook, and Mme. Point continued to proudly sign copies for guests at the restaurant on occasion.
