(*NEW ARRIVAL*) (Native Foods) Kativik Regional Government. Nunavik Family Cookbook / ᓄᓇᕕᒻᒥ ᐃᓚᒌᓄᑦ ᓂᕐᓯᐅᑏᑦ
Illus. with striking full-page color photographs. Pictorial flexible boards. First Edition. Quebec: Universite Laval, 2014.
In English & Nunavik. The idea to create this cookbook came from Nunavimmiut parents. They have been asking for the recipes served in Nunavik childcare centres because they know that these healthy recipes are loved by their children. That said, the book is full of professional-level recipes for traditional dishes like marinated seal ribs, caribou macaroni, caribou stuffed bannock, bacon-wrapped wild goose, braised ptarmagins, suvalik, etc.
Most of these recipes are served through the Nutrition Program in Nunavik Childcare Centres. Recipes have been adapted for family-size servings. Some new and tasty recipes have also been added, such as traditional Nunavimmiut recipes developed by the cooks at different Nunavik childcare centres under the Nutrition Program.
